We were delighted when Craft Town Scotland's application to the VisitScotland Challenge Fund was successful The VisitScotland Challenge Fund is a project part-financed by the European Union, designed to encourage innovative and collaborative marketing activity that attracts more visitors to Scotland.

As part of the promotional events programme, Craft Town Scotland is hosting an open day at West Kilbride Village Hall on Saturday 26th May from 1pm until 3.30pm.
Come along to West Kilbride and share in some of the secrets of the makers from the award winning studios of “Craft Town Scotland”

Discover
– how silver is transformed into jewellery and silverware
– how plain candles can be altered to create unique wax art
– how willow is weaved into an array of baskets and furniture
– how hats and headwear are designed and constructed
– how mosaics emerge from small glass pieces
– how soft clay is transformed by fire into solid forms

Try your hand at weaving with willow, and leave with your own craft creation.

Nic, our candle maker, has made a BIG candle so everyone can carve his or her own design section. Names will go forward to a prize draw at the end of the afternoon, with the winner taking what will be a very unique candle home.

All studio makers will be on hand to answer questions

Teas, coffees and pastries will be available to visitors.

All those who come along to the event will receive special promotional leaflets that include a 10% discount on selected ranges priced up to the value of £150. These can be redeemed at the five Craft Town studios on your next visit to West Kilbride.

Entry to this event is free
