Not content with completing the London Half Marathon on the 5th of October, when he raised an amazing £1014.20 for the Barony Fund, Gary has set himself an even bigger challenge!
Gary says:
"After completing the Run to the Beat, half marathon in London, I have decided to go one further and take part in my first ever marathon. The marathon will take place on 5 April 2009 in the beautiful city of Paris.
Again, I am raising funds which will go toward the restoration of the Barony in West KIlbride. The Barony was taken over by the West Kilbride Community Initiative a few years back and plans are afoot to develop this wonderful building into a muti purpose exhibition and events venue which will have a positive impact in the local community.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: West Kilbride Community Initiative Ltd gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Eddie Wood, Chair of West Kilbride Community Initiative Ltd, is full of praise for Gary"s commitment to raising funds for the Barony.
"I always knew Gary could talk the hind legs off a donkey, but didn"t know he could run the legs off one too! Seriously, it means a great deal to everyone involved in the Initiative, and the Barony Development Group, that Gary has shown such enthusiasm for the Barony and the community. We are apprciative of the long hours of training, not to mention all that running on the day. We wish him all the best in Paris and hope as many people as possible will support him."
Thanks to everyone for your continued support, we take great encouragement from dedication like Gary"s, and all those other local people who have raised funds, encouraged us, and given of their time over the years!!
